Hello Denis and everybody else. I'm currently working my way through Technique and Improv Vol. 1 and just have a couple of quick questions. I've noticed that I can't always get phrases to work over dominant chords. One example is of an A minor phrase that you say in the video also works over D7. So I find that sometimes I can get it to work and other times not so much... like over the F7 in Blues Clair, but not really over the E7 in All Of Me. (I'm transposing and applying these phrases to a handful of tunes).

Another example would be one of the first few E7 phrases that you show (this one's in the 5th position). I can get it to work over D7 in Minor Blues and some other spots of other tunes but I'm having trouble hearing it over most of the dominant chords in After You've Gone and again the F7 in Blues Clair.

So I'm wondering if I'm just not hearing how it works or if there are only certain circumstances in which they'll work. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks-
Greg
